So Good Kombucha is founded by Lesley So with the mission to provide the UK with a healthy and delicious fizzy drink alternative that is ethical, sustainable, and beneficial for the local community. We are a social venture with plans to support, train, and employ refugees. Our company values guide every decision that we make to ensure that it is Good for our planet and our communities.
So Good - it runs in the family!
Naturally sparkling and slightly tangy, kombucha is a fermented tea with origins thought to go back over 2000 years to ancient China, where it was dubbed the "Elixir of Life" for its many health benefits.
Kombucha is a part of the So Family - we even have a family SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) nicknamed "mui-mui" (which means "little sister" in Chinese) responsible for fermenting the organic tea and raw cane sugar blend which makes our kombucha so delicious and healthy.
These 4 things make "So Good", so uniquely good
Full & Bold Taste - our drinks are carefully handcrafted to pack in BIG and UNIQUE flavours. We've spared no expenses in order to bring you fresh bold tastes that are not watered down - blending in loads of cold-pressed fresh ingredients with the natural fizzy tartness of the fermented tea. It's an addictively delicious, full-flavoured kombucha designed to satisfy even those with the most sophisticated palates.
Gut-Friendly - our kombucha is never filtered nor pasteurised in order to maximise the living, gut-loving, friendly bacteria in every sip. You may even find bits and strands in your bottles - this is completely natural and safe to consume and is a good sign of an authentic fermentation! We brew in small batches, using plant-based ingredients, cold-pressed in our kitchen.
Eco-Friendly & Sustainable - we care deeply about our planet and are obsessive about finding ways to reduce our environmental impact and carbon footprint. We ban single-used plastics in our packaging, and are working towards zero-waste in our operations. We seek to recycle or reuse as much as possible - this is why we will be working with local stocklists to put in place a bottle / cardboard recycling programme. Our carbon impact per employee is offset via Ecologi (click here to access our climate positive pledge & see how many trees we've planted!).
Social Purpose-Driven - we are a small social venture with a BIG dream! We believe that work is GOOD, and that businesses should be a force for good. We seek to employ, train, and empower refugees and others who are marginalised in society to give them meaningful work and enable them to come out of the social benefits system. We collaborate with, and give 10% of our profits to, local charities who care for the same causes. We are also consciously partnering with suppliers that share the same values as us - a good example is Nemi Teas, a refugee-supporting business who is our supplier of organic, fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance-certified, plastic-free specialty teas. We are a certified member of Social Enterprise UK (SEUK).
